The annual Robert James and Martha Ann (Dewease) Dearing reunion was held Sunday, July 22nd. 2007 at the Christain Service Center, Decaur, MS. Paricipants starting arriving around 10AM - and had a wonderful time cathing up on family news, sharing pictures, and updating the family genealogy program.
The family business meeting was called to order shortly before noon; during which time various points of order were covered. The election of Officers was held, Bobby Dearing was elected to serve a five year term as President; Sherry Dearing Guttery was elected to serve a five year term as Secretary and Treasurer. Several issues regarding the family website (this site) were discussed and voted upon. The family genealogical data is to be split into two parts - the public part containing dates, etc. only for those individuals that have passed on. The "Living" data will be placed into a secure area, which will require a sign-in name and password for access. Sign-in names and passwords will be mailed to those persons who provided their address on the event sign-in sheet. The recent move of the family website to a different host was discussed along with the impact on hosting costs. A request for an individual's data to be removed from the family record was presented and approved. Time, date and location of the next reunion was set as noted below. The remaining time was spent enjoying lunch and pleasant fellowship well into the afternoon. It is noted that the attendance this year was the largest in roughly 20 years- with many people traveling quite some distance. |

| The annual Dearing Family Reunion will be held Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Christian Service Center, Decatur, MS. Most people like to arrive around 10AM and spend the day. |

| What to bring: | Covered Dish / picnic lunch. Pictures to share; even better if you have copies for the Family Album. Written update information for the family's Genealogy data. Swim suits, towels, etc. if you wish to swim in the very nice pool. Also a basketball court available for those wishing to shoot hoops - bring your own ball... |
to the Mississippi Christian Service Camp From I20 take Mississippi Hwy 15 North approximately 4.1 miles. Turn right onto the camp's gravel road. Coming South from Decatur on Mississippi Hwy 15: Starting at the traffic light (Texaco and Chevron on the corners) - go approximately 3.3 miles South and turn left on the Camp's gravel road. There is a large sign on the east side of Hwy 15 at the Camp's road. |

Public access to the limited database will be restored after the July 22 meeting. Access to the living database is restricted, and requires a sign-in name and password for access. These will be available at the meeting on July 22 - yet another reason to attend! |
